Privacy Policy
Last updated August 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Labsintelligence (Labs Companies, Inc.) handles information on labsintelligence.ai and app.labsintelligence.ai, including the LabsAI Research Preview — the voice and typed conversation experience.
Conversational Privacy
Talking to an intelligence is different from filling in a form, so this section states plainly what happens to a conversation while it is happening and after it ends.
- The microphone is open only inside a session. Audio streams while a voice session is running and stops the moment you mute, press stop, say goodbye, or the session's time limit is reached. Nothing is captured before you start or after you end.
- Your words are held in memory, not in a database. The running transcript exists so the conversation stays coherent — including when you switch voices mid-conversation — and is discarded when the session closes.
- Noise stays out. Audio below the speech threshold is gated on your device, so room tone and background conversation are not transmitted as speech.
- Camera and screen are off until you turn them on, sample single frames about once per second while enabled, are never stored by us, and stop the instant you switch them off.
- Recordings never leave your device. The 90-second recording is produced in your browser and saved to your own downloads; we have no copy.
- Only a name persists. If you offer your name it is kept in your browser so LabsAI can greet you next time. Nothing else follows you between visits, and clearing your browser storage removes it.
- Retrieved pages are data, not instruction. When LabsAI reads a web page for you, that content is treated strictly as material to summarize — it cannot direct the system or extract anything about your session.
- Processing. Conversation content is processed by third-party AI model and voice providers acting on our behalf, solely to generate responses to you in real time. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use your conversations to train models.
You are always in control: say “stop”, mute, close the camera, change the subject, or end the session, and LabsAI honors it immediately.
What we collect, by modality
- Typed messages. What you type during a conversation, used to generate the reply.
- Microphone audio. While a voice session is active, audio streams continuously so LabsAI can listen while it speaks. Nothing is captured before you start a session or after you end one, and muting stops the stream immediately. We do not write your session audio to disk.
- Camera and screen frames. Only if you turn them on. While enabled, single still frames are sampled about once per second, up to 1024 pixels wide, and passed into the conversation so LabsAI can see what you are showing it. We do not store these frames. Turning the camera or screen share off stops the sampling; ending the session tears it down.
- Session transcript, in memory only. For the length of a session, the running transcript is held in server memory so the conversation stays coherent — including when you change the voice mid-conversation. It is discarded when the session closes and is never written to a database.
- Your name, if you give it. If you tell LabsAI your name, it is stored locally in your browser so it can greet you next time, and it is used in-session. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
- Technical data. Standard web server logs — IP address, user agent, timestamps — used for security and rate limiting.
- Preferences. Light or dark mode and your selected voice, stored locally in your browser.
- Feedback you choose to send. If you submit the end-of-session rating or written feedback, we receive it along with a timestamp.
Recordings stay on your device
The 90-second recording feature is produced entirely inside your browser and saved to your own device's downloads. Recordings are never uploaded to us, never stored on our servers, and we have no copy of them. What you do with the file afterwards — including sharing it — is entirely your choice. If other people are visible or audible on camera or screen, please make sure they are comfortable being recorded.
How conversations are processed
Conversation content — your messages, session audio, and any camera or screen frames you enable — is processed by third-party AI model and voice providers acting on our behalf, solely to generate responses to you in real time. We do not sell that content, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your conversations to train models. Where a page from the open web is retrieved during a conversation, that content is treated strictly as data to read, never as instructions.
How long anything is kept
- Session transcript and audio: held in memory for the session only, then discarded. Sessions are time-limited.
- Server logs: rotated daily and deleted after 14 days.
- Rate-limit counters: short-lived operational state, keyed by a hash of the IP address.
- Cached audio: the only audio we cache is our own synthesized narration of pages we publish. It contains no conversation content.
- Feedback: retained while we act on it, and deletable on request.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use conversations for advertising.
- We do not use your conversations to train models.
- We do not require an account to use the site.
- We do not store your camera frames, screen frames, or recordings.
Where processing happens
The site is served from the United States, and processing takes place in the United States and in regions operated by our processors. If you are outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States.
Your choices and your rights
- Use text mode if you prefer not to enable your microphone; camera and screen share are always off until you turn them on.
- You may decline or revoke microphone, camera and screen permissions at any time in your browser.
- Ending a session — with the stop control, or simply by saying goodbye — closes the stream and discards the in-memory transcript.
- Clearing your browser storage removes your stored name, theme and voice preference.
- To request access to, or deletion of, anything associated with you — feedback you sent, or logs from a particular time — write to us. Because no account is required, please include enough detail for us to locate it.
Sharing within Labs, and with providers
Labsintelligence is lab1 of Labs Companies, Inc. We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf — the AI model and voice providers described above, and standard hosting, security and analytics providers — and with our affiliates within the Labs family of companies where they operate part of the Services, for the purposes described here. We also disclose information where required by law or legal process, to protect the rights and safety of Labs, our users, or the public, and in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets subject to customary protections. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information about you, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (we do neither). U.S. residents — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) and comparable laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and other states — and individuals in the EEA, UK and Switzerland under the GDPR may exercise these rights by contacting us. Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are performing the service you ask for, our legitimate interest in operating and securing it, your consent for microphone, camera, screen and other sensitive processing, and compliance with law; you may withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal where required. Because using LabsAI does not require an account, please include enough detail for us to locate any information about you.
Children
This experience is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and post the revised policy here.
